CT River Etching
Anne Penniman Associates AJ Shea Construction 2017 CTASLA Honor Award The clients’ request for a map of the Connecticut River on their pool terrace was installed in collaboration with Arthur Brookes Sons. A full-size template was printed on clear film and then transferred onto sandblasting stencil. After sandblasting, the silhouette was painted using an airbrush just lightly enough, so that the grain of the stone is still visible, to create the effect of looking through the water.
